- Drawings Forest Service Supplemental Specifications Solicitation Package Fenn Pond is a popular fishing site located directly across from the Fenn Ranger Station near Lowell, Idaho. The pond has fishing docks and boardwalks that allow disabled visitors access to fishing opportunities and other recreation facilities. This project is phase one of three to upgrade and improve the habitat and recreation in and around the Fenn Fishing Pond. This phase of the project focuses on improving fish habitat in the pond itself by removing silted in material and deepening the pond to a depth of 10-14 feet so that the water stays cooler and functions more naturally. Work shall include demolition of parts of the existing boardwalk and fishing docks, construction of an access route and dredging of approximately 5500 cubic yards of pond sediments. Work also includes removing and replacing the existing outlet culvert, replacing the fish screen and installing a trash rack. The outer bank on the pond shall be sealed with bentonite, large rocks (Class 3 Rip Rap) shall be placed for fish habitat and the access route shall be rehabilitated upon completion of the dredging activities. The project is located at the Fenn Ranger Station, 831 Selway Road, Kooskia, ID on the Moose Creek Ranger District of the Nez Perce Clearwater National Forests. To reach the site from Orofino, ID, travel 57 miles east to Lowell, ID, turn right on to the Selway Road #223, travel 4.7 miles to Fenn Ranger Station. A formal pre-bid tour shall be scheduled; date and time will be provided in the solicitation. The solicitation was issued July 23rd, 2014. The performance period for this project is approximately September 15, 2014 through November 15, 2014. The estimated price range for the project is between $100,000 -$250,000. Bid bonds are required for offers valued over $150,000.
