- This is a market survey for the acquisition of Procure a 2TB RSA from Ampex. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)currently has a TS-485 data recorder. This data recorder requires a storage device called an RSA to operate. The RSA has about 2 TB worth of storage. This amount of storage allows for long-term recording off of the CARSR system. Ampex is the only manufacturer of RSAs since it is the proprietary method of storage for the TS-485, which is also built by Ampex. Only those responses providing the required documentation in response to this market survey will be considered prior to further action by the FAA. Interested firms are requried to contact the Contracting Officer via email at Dominic.lackey@faa.gov. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing responses to this market survey. Any proprietary information should be so marked. Individual company responses will not be disclosed to other vendors. This announcement is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the FAA to acquire these services.
