- RFQ The U. S Food & Drug Administration, Office of Acquisitions and Grants Services is requesting quotes to purchase a "Sterile Tube Welder", Plus a Preventive Maintenance Agreement for Three, One Year Options. This RFQ is to purchase a "Sterile Tube Welder", Plus a Preventive Maintenance Agreement for Three, One Year Options, after the expiration of the initial one year warranty. The FDA intends to purchase a fully automated machine that is capable of welding/fusing pharmaceutical grade tubing together in an aseptic/sterile manner outside of a laminar flow hood, to support bioprocess manufacturing experiments using DASGIP parallel bioreactors. These bioreactors have various sizes (1/8" to 3/8" I.D. with 1/4" to 5/8" O.D.) of silicone tubing connected to the head plates that supply both gases and liquids. The FDA requires an instrument that can allow users to weld/fuse a new sterile tube to those attached to the bioreactors as needed. The welder/fuser must have interchangeable tube holders to accept the various tubing size listed above along with the technical specifications listed in this RFQ.
