- SYNOPSIS: Micro Fish Counters NOTICE: THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT, NOT AN RFQ. The intent of this notice is to inform the vendor community of USFWS's proposed contract action. This proposed procurement is for items which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(b)(1). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than July 29, 1 pm CT. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The US Fish & Wildlife Service intends to award a sole source contract to PR Aqua Supplies Ltd an In-Situ Inc Company. Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The purpose of this procurement is to purchase two Vaki Micro Fish Counters and associated fish measuring software. Vaki Micro Fish Counters use optical counting technologies to enumerate and measure all fish within a population with a 1-2% error rate. The system when coupled with an automated fish pump allows for the enumeration, measurement, and distribution of a population of fish without the fish ever having to leave the water. This advantage greatly reduces stress in the sampled population and helps maintain the health and growth potential of cultured stocks. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334513 Instruments and Related Products Manufacturing for Measuring, Displaying, and Controlling Industrial Process Variables with a size standard of 500 employees.
