- MISSISSIPPI RIVER HYDRAULIC DREDGING, McMillan Island Dredged Material Placement Site Unloading, Clayton County, IA. This project is located in Pool 10 of the Upper Mississippi River near Guttenberg, Iowa. The project consists of transferring approximately 150,000 cubic yards of stockpiled dredge material from McMillan Island dredge material placement site to Buck Creek placement site. Buck Creek is an upland placement site located approximately 2.2 miles from the McMillan Island. The McMillan Island dredge material placement site is an island without road access that has historically been used for placement of material dredged from the main channel of the Mississippi River. McMillan Island is located at River Mile 618.7 about 3 miles north of Guttenberg. The estimated price range for this requirement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 dollars. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 with a small business size standard of $25.5 million. Dredging: To be considered small for purposes of Government procurement, a firm must perform at least 40 percent of the volume dredged with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small dredging concern. This solicitation will be issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and will be issued unrestricted. The Solicitation including specifications and drawings is expected to be issued and posted to this site on or about 21 July, 2014. Any updates will be posted to this site.
