- This requirement is for a contractor to provide automotive-type 6-volt, 12-volt, and 24 volt batteries for items ranging from golf carts to garden tractor to heavy construction equipment and 50,000 LB forklifts. Batteries will be sealed, maintenance free, except for those identified as quote mark refillable quote mark. Recycled batteries are not acceptable. The government shall provide a spreadsheet of all possible BCI group numbers and specifications, as well as estimated annual minimum and maximum quantities that the contractor will be required to provide. As a minimum, the contractor will provide the cold-cranking amps (CCA) at zero degrees combined with the reserve capacity (RC) listed on the spreadsheet. Additional batteries, which are not on the spreadsheet, will be added to the contract on an quote mark as needed quote mark basis. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for women owned small business concerns. North American Industry Classification System Code is 335911. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502, and 5.102(a); therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Proposals submitted must be in electronic format as stated in the solicitation. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the Internet: https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/default.cfm. Estimated issue date is 1 September 2014. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is, in fact, unable to maintain a bidder's mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above Internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals may render your proposal non-responsive and result in the rejection of your proposal.
