- Description of Work: Repair electrical distribution system to ensure continuous power in support of mission operations at Naval Air Station, Whidbey Island, WA. Programmed replacement of electrical distribution system components, to include transformers, switches and related MV cable that are near or at the end of their useful life. Rationale for Sole Source 8(a): We recommend awarding this acquisition to Bristol General Contractors, LLC, which is an 8(a) small business. This contractor has demonstrated familiarity with the NASWI utility/electrical system on past contracts. Due to the criticality of htis electrical system to continuous airfield operaitons as well as the complexity of this project, the Government feels that working with Bristol General Contractors, LLC directly during the solicitation process would ensure the project is awarded in a timely manner and provide best value to the Government.
