- Come learn about the U.S. Agency for International Develeopment's Global Development Laboratory, established within USAID in early 2014 to harness scientific research and innovations for breakthrough results in international development. The Lab is keen to collaborate with small businesses to solve development challenges more cost-efficiently and effectively. Roderick Watson, Contracting Officer supporting the Lab, will provide a presentation on how to do business with USAID and how our Small Business program works. Bruce McFarland, Chief of Operational Innovations within the Lab, will present the core mission and current activities of the Lab. He will also introduce the Lab's latest partnership initiative - the Development Innovation Accelerator. This is a new way of doing business, allowing USAID to engage with a more diverse pool of partners to co-create and co-design innovative solutions across the nine focus areas of the Lab. In addition to the presentations, attendees may ask questions of the speakers. This Small Business Event will take place during the afternoon on July 24, 2014 in Washington DC.
