- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE 09 July 2014 The 700TH Contracting Squadron, Kapaun Air Station Bldg 2767, D-67661 Kaiserslautern, hereby formally announces the intent to award a firm-fixed purchase order on a sole source basis to: L3 Communications - NARDA Satellite Networks 435 Moreland Road Hauppauge, NY 11788 Phone: (631) 272-5637 This is a one-time cable and compass replacement equipment purchase. An L-3 Narda Satellite Network GMT is assigned to the 1ST Combat Communications Squadron (1 CBCS). Replacement Spool 5 cable reels (quantity 2) is needed to connect the L-3 Narda Satellite Network electronic cases to the L-3 Narda Satellite Network antenna. The True North Compass (quantity 2) for the L-3 Narda Satellite Network GMT provides position data to the electronic cases, which uses the data to control the antenna. The proposed contract action is for equipment of which the Air Force intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302. The items are specific to the existing system and only manufactured by L-3 Narda Satellite Networks. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals; however, all interested persons that identify to the Contracting Officer their intent and capabilities to satisfy the Government's requirement with commercial items and are received within seven (7) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
