- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a solicitation set aside for 8(a) Businesses for Invitation for Bid (IFB) for Repair Barracks Building 674, Fort Devens, MA. The NAICS code for this procurement is 236220. The estimated construction cost is between $1M and $5M. The project is planned to be issued on or about July 18th, 2014. The Project is located at Fort Devens in Devens, Massachusetts. Building 674 is located at the following address: 49 Queenstown Street, Devens MA. The purpose of this project is to renovate several areas and systems in the barracks. The major scope of items includes the following: a. Relocate and install hot water boiler system to adjacent mechanical room. b. Removate all restroom areas including all applicable piping and fixtures. c. Provide two-pipe fan coil HVAC system for entire building. d. Upgrade building electrical system including replacement of main switchboard and provisions for emergency generator connection. e. Reglaze windows, re-caulk windows, refurbish or replace window screens that need repair or are missing, and refurbish or replace window hardware that need repair or are missing. f. Insulate exterior walls. g. Paint walls and ceilings of sleeping quarters. h. Replace all existing lighting with LED and add occupancy sensors in hallways. i. Provide a fire protection system for the building and replace the existing fire alarm control panel. Building will not be occupied during performance of work under this Contract. A staging area adjacent to the building will be made available to the Contractor. This is not a request for proposals at this time. The solicitation requirements and contract documents to include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about July 18th, 2014. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation, offerors must access the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov).
