- NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CORROSION ENGINEERS COATINGS INSPECTOR PROGRAM LEVEL 1 FOR THE FOR THE U.S. COAST GUARD SURFACE FORCES LOGISTICS CENTER The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center, intends to issue a purchase order with NACE INTERNATIONAL for the procurement of training of coating inspections to approx. 20 U.S. Coast Guard Port Engineers. Training is to take place at the U.S. Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, Maryland 20-25 JULY 2014. The Coatings Inspector course is an intensive presentation of the basic technology of coating application and inspection over a full 60 hours of personal instruction and practice. Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source. NACE INTERNATIONAL has been determined to be a sole source supplier of the Coatings Inspector Level 1 course. Additionally, NACE INTERNATIONAL is the only company able to provide this certification. The requirement will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition procedures per FAR 13. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the government will consider all information received within four (7) calendar days after the date of publication of this notice. A Determination by the Government not to compete as a result of information received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
