- Description
- The Peace Corps intends to award on a sole source basis a secondary internet connection service in its Washington DC Headquarters for the period of performance of one base year with 2 Option Years to Comcast 900 Michigan Ave NE, Washington, DC. The purpose of this award is to provide alternate /redundant source of internet service for the Headquarters building. The proposed award action is for internet service for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only the above designated source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The basic requirement of alternate internet service must exclude the Verizon system as the last mile loop to fulfill the requirement because Verizon is the prime internet service provider for the Peace Corps Headquarters. The proposed contractor has a unique qualification providing the internet service because they have their own fiber/network infrastructure in Washington metropolitan area and other will rely on Verizon or Comcast for this infrastructure. All circuits need the capability to be upgraded from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps and above without any major hardware changes which can be fulfilled by the proposed vendor. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responsible sources may submit a proposal which may be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received may be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement
