- BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to place an order with Mid-Atlantic Crossroads (MAX) for continued access to the Internet2, National LambdaRail (NLR) and various commodity Internet providers. This action will allow NSF to maintain its membership status so that NSF can collaborate in a variety of working groups, participate in strategic planning, and verify awards that are distributed via the network. The estimated value of the service is $90,000.00. Mid-Atlantic Crossroads, A University of Maryland entity, is the only source for connecting to the membership consortium services that are used as part of the Internet2 consortium. The period of performance will be October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015. The proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to sponsor with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for information purposes only.
