Description
Site Photos THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) is seeking eligible small businesses within 100 mile radius capable of performing requirements to repair or replace the fire escape of a 1909 Historic Register Property in McAlester Oklahoma that has been identified as a National Historic Building. This building is in need of getting the fire escape repaired or replaced if repairs are not deemed possible. Because this is a historic building, the fire escape that is installed must be as close to the original as possible, while still meeting all fire codes. The building is located at: 509 S. Third Street McAlester, OK 74502-5819 The fire escape at the MSHA McAlester field office is not firmly attached to the wall and is not functional. The present fire escape is attached to the rear of the building. The assembly is not firmly attached to the building. The assembly includes a telescoping counter balanced ladder feature that should descend to the ground with the body weight of a user. The moving feature does not operate due to age and rust. In addition there is a stationary metal ladder on the landing that extends to the roof parapet. In its present condition the fire escape allows for unauthorized access to the roof of the building. Prior to any award, the Oklahoma Historical Society is requiring that we submit plans that will "Locate and identify the new construction relative to the existing building, and provide specifications that describe the new materials and finishes proposed." All bids must include a statement of work describing in detail the work that will be done, including the types and finishes of all materials used. The estimated contract value is less than $25,000.00. The anticipated award of this contract is July 2014. The NAICS code for this project is 238190. All Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, certified HUBZone, certified 8(a), and other certified Small Businesses are encouraged to respond. Small Businesses with GSA Schedules should list their schedule number on their response. Large Business submittals will not be considered. If you are an 8(a) contractor, please submit your SBA certification letter. Upon review of industry responses to this notice, the Government will determine whether a Set-Aside acquisition in lieu of Full and Open competition is in the Governments best interest. This is a Market Research Tool being used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential Small Business sources prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of an award. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. This notice is NOT a Request for Proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose other than market research. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. It is requested that interested Small Businesses submit to the Contracting Office a brief Capabilities Statement Package (no more than 10 pages in length, single-spaced, 12-point font minimum) demonstrating ability to perform the requested services.
