- Description
- Question #1 - Concerning the received question, all potential bidders will be provided with you question and the response from the Engineer / COR. The military customer has provided me with a technical response to the Statement of Work located within solicitation W15QKN-14-T-1154. The question: In my review of the quote mark Statement of Work quote mark I noted that the Contractor shall inspect and perform an annual service to the scheduled item to be inspected. I was under the impression that the quote mark only quote mark responsibility for the contract was to quote mark inspect quote mark only. We are fully capable of providing the annual on-site inspections. But the actual servicing of the scheduled item is above our pay grade. It has been our experience that the actual annual inspection and servicing of the identified item are separate. In other words quote mark don't leave the fox in the hen house quote mark. Please advise us at your earliest opportunity as to whether the contractor is needed only to do the quote mark annual inspections quote mark or is the contractor required to do both the quote mark inspection and the service quote mark. The answer: The Statement of Work is correct as it is written. The vendor will be required to perform an annual inspection of the fire extinguishers, sprinkler system, kitchen suppression system, fire alarm system for each location. The Statement of Work is a service type of work. The vendor is providing a service per the Statement of Work. The requirement is for each fire extinguisher to be inspected annually for various items to include a tag on the fire extinguisher per NFPA regulations. The hydrostatic testing service will be required for the first year for all fire extinguishers which requires a special test in that the vendor will most likely require testing at a separate location in which the fire extinguisher bottle has to be completely emptied and filled with a liquid under pressure to test the integrity of the fire extinguisher bottle. The Statement of Work also requires the vendor to provide a written report for each facility of the items inspected and serviced. If a fire extinguisher or any other item needs repaired or replaced that item is considered an actual repair and would be done under a separate contract or a credit card.
