- On or about 02 May 2014, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the North Shore Sedimentation Pond Removal & Construction New Lagoon, Big Bend Dam, SD. The solicitation will close on or about 03 June 2014. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. A tentative site visit date has been scheduled for 15 May at 1 pm. Contractors are to meet at the Administration Building (33573 North Shore Road, Fort Thompson, SD 57339). For questions please contact Mike Trumm at 605-245-1825. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) The Scope of Work for this project entails the demolition of an existing industrial waste lagoon and construction of a parking lot, grinder lift station, 1-1/2 force main and new lined industrial waste lagoon. The existing industrial waste lagoon is a lined lagoon that will have the existing industrial waste water, sludges and soil above the liner, and the liner are removed and disposed off-site. The existing lagoon fence is removed. The existing lagoon is then filled and a crushed aggregate parking lot is constructed on that site. The new lift station is 4 ft diameter wetwell that is a duplex grinder system with a flow of 15 gpm at 30 feet tdh. The force main is approximately 500 feet of 1-1/2 inch pipe and discharges to a new lined lagoon. The estimated construction cost of this project is between$150,000 and $250,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 150 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Representations and certifications are required to be updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to SAM.
