- This posting constitutes Amendment 0001 of the Synopsis. The Synopsis has been amended to remove the last sentence of the second paragraph which read "Please see attached for more information." No attachments are included with this synopsis. THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation, request for quote, or proposal and no contract will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time. A cascading small business set-aside approach will be used for this procurement. The solicitation will be released on a full and open competition basis; however, if two or more offers from qualified small business concerns are received in response to this solicitation, the solicitation shall be converted to a 100 percent set-aside for small business concerns, as defined by the clause 52.219-6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Military Sealift Command Norfolk intends to issue an unrestricted solicitation on/about 13 March 2014 for the Regular Overhaul/Dry Dock (ROH/DD) on the USNS MEDGAR EVERS (T-AKE 13) commencing on or about 20 August through 30 September 2014 for an estimated period of 42 days. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Major work items (WI) include: 0011 Furnish General Services 0101 Roller Chock Replacement 0201 Main Diesel Engines Nos. 1 & 4 6,000 Hour Maintenance 0505 AFFF Piping Repairs 0511 Central Seawater System Spool Repairs 0806 HVAC Variable Speed Drive Installation Support 0901 Dock & Undock Ship 0902 Propeller Shaft and Stern Tube Inspection 0909 Underwater Hull Cleaning and Painting 1001 Renew Flight Deck Non-Skid Work is to be performed at the Contractor's facility on or about the above mentioned date. Area of consideration is the East Coast, USA. After issuance, the solicitation may be obtained thru Federal Business Opportunity (FBO) website. The appropriate NAICS Code is 336611 with a standard size of 1,000. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE OR PROPOSAL. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. There are NO RESPONSES due based on this pre-solicitation notice.
