- The US Geological Survey intends to award a requirement for supplies for the continued operation of our AB3500 Genetic Analyzer which requires the use of numerous consumables and accessories on a noncompetitive basis to Life Technologies/Applied Biosystems, Grand Island, NY. The Capillary arrays, polymer, anode and cathode buffers, plate septa, cathode buffer septa, Hi-Di formamide, conditioning reagents, Genescan Liz600 size standard, DS-33 Matrix standard, Big Dye, sequencing buffer and sequencing standards are required for the normal operation of the Genetic Analyzer. The AB3500 Genetic Analyzer requires consumables and accessories that are specifically designed for use on this model. This instrument requires ready-to-use consumables like pre-packaged polymer pouches, cathode and anode buffer containers and easy-to-install capillary arrays. Each of these consumables is integrated with RFID tags that enable viewing, tracking and reporting of critical information about reagents and consumables including usage, lot number, part number, expiry date and on-instrument lifetime within the 3500 Series Data Collection Software. This action is being processed in accordance with FAR 13.106-1, only one source reasonable available. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit capabilities to tmeeker@usgs.gov no later than 2:00PM MT February 18, 2014. Questions and responses submitted by a method other than electronic mail will not be accepted and will not be answered or considered. This is NOT a solicitation. No award shall be made on the basis of quotations or offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear, compelling, and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the contract will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
