- THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to learn from industry how best to provide individual cable television service and high speed internet access for active duty dormitory residents on Maxwell (includes Gunter) AFB. The Government is seeking information on market capabilities, common industry standards, latest technological advances, commercial terms and conditions, timelines for adaptation and integration, estimated pricing and possible suppliers and sources. Cable television/high speed internet service for active duty dormitory residents will be solely between the service provider and dormitory resident; however, the service provider will have to request a "Franchise Agreement." This notice is issued solely for market research and planning purposes and does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid, nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. No award will be made from this RFI and the Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to this notice. The 42nd Contracting Squadron at Maxwell Air Force Base is inviting cable television/internet service providers to an open discussion on 18 December 2013. Interested companies that would like to participate in this discussion are asked to register by providing the following information: company's full name, business size, address, point of contact, and phone number. Registration is due no later than 16 December 2013 at 12pm, Central Standard Time (CST).
