Description

The VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with GE Healthcare. The proposed contract action is for a replacement part, called the Combo 31cm Apollo Detector, for the existing GE Healthcare interventional angiography bi-plane system, which is used for neuro-diagnostic or interventional procedures. The Combo 31cm Apollo Detector is manufactured by GE Healthcare, the sole manufacturer of the interventional angiography bi-plane system. The Combo 31cm Apollo Detector is the only item that can interface with the existing interventional angiography bi-plane system. This sole source action is in accordance with the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer for consideration. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements. Responses are due by December 6, 2013 at 4:30 PM PST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses must be e-mailed to gary.basile@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. No reimbursement for any costs associated with providing capability statements will be provided by the Government.
