- Description
- This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bids to obtain construction services for its "Canal Drilling for Permanent Dispersal Barrier I at the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal (CSSC) Dispersal Barrier Project Site, Romeoville, IL". PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract set, the Contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary facilities, plants, labor, transportation, materials, and equipment to drill two (2) holes with a minimum inner casing diameter of 25.29 inches will be required to route eighty (80) cables each. Given the availability of casing, the actual hole size that the casing will be placed in may be on the order of 36 - 38 inches in diameter. The holes will be drilled on an angle through rock (dolomite). The location of the boreholes will be between active electric barrier 2A and the active electric demonstration barrier. ACQUISTION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is OPEN AND UNRESTRICTED TO ALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System Code 238910, which applies a small business size standard in dollars of $14.0M. The estimated price range for this construction project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. In order for contractors to be awarded contracts with this agency, the contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM); registration can be completed free of charge by accessing https://www.sam.gov. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price CONSTRUCTION contract from this acquisition. FAXED OR ELECTRONIC BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. BID SET: The Invitation for Bids (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated, and/or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested Bidders can download the IFB Package from this Internet Site, https://www.fbo.gov. The IFB will be available at this Internet site (www.fbo.gov) on 10 December 2013. Bids will be due by 2:00pm CDT on 10 January 2014. Please be advised that in the case of a discrepancy between the dates/times published in this notice and those called out in the IFB document, the dates/times in the IFB document overrides those published hereunder this notice; this is relative to the IFB issuance date and the due date & time for Bids.
