- NIST Industry Day Notice Cloud Computing (RESCHEDULED FROM OCTOBER 9, 2013) Description The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will be hosting an Industry Day for Cloud Computing vendors to engage vendors and federal employees in a discussion about to the opportunities and challenges of Cloud Computing in the Federal Government. The Industry Day will focus on procurement strategies around cloud services, as well as Infrastructure as a Service capabilities in the market place to solve various NIST scientific use cases. The Industry Day will also allow vendors to market their cloud computing capabilities to the NIST and Department of Commerce communities in the areas of Storage, Compute resources, Orchestration, Authentication, Identity Management, and Personal Identity Verification (PIV). All Cloud Computing vendors are welcome to attend. There will be limited vendor space. Applications for vendor space will be included in the registration for the event. If you would like to exhibit you must complete the application and email it to Jo-Lynn.Davis@nist.gov. You will be notified if you receive a vendor exhibit space. All participating vendors will have an opportunity to distribute their capability portfolios and meet with personnel from the NIST Chief Information Office (this is the NIST Office of Information Systems Management (OISM) ). If you submitted an application and received an acceptance email you do not need to re-apply. The Industry Day will be held at NIST, located at 100 Bureau Drive, Building 101, Gaithersburg, MD 20899 on Monday, December 16, 2013, (rescheduled from October 9, 2013), with registration beginning at 7:30 AM and the formal program from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (EST) with vendor exhibits, and Government personnel available from 12:00 PM to 2:00PM. No refreshments will be served as part of the industry day; however, there is a full service cafeteria at the facility site. This is a FREE event. If you already registered (to attend the event in October) DO NOT register again. NOTE: This is NOT a "bidder's conference" and this announcement is not a request for proposal, a promise to contract or a commitment of any kind. The Government will not assume liability for costs incurred by any offeror for presentations, travel, marketing efforts or data offered for examination. Therefore, the cost of preparing information in response to this notice is not considered an allowable direct or indirect charge to the Government.
