- Western Montana District Mine Closure Bat Gates Mine Closure Bat Gates The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Western Montana District, intends to award a Purchase Order to furnish labor, equipment, supplies, and materials to close 13 abandoned mine sites by field fitting gates and grates to the individual openings. All sites are located in southwest Montana from East of Twin Bridges to North of Butte, MT The government will provide all steel required for the gates, steel will be picked up from the Butte Field Office in Butte, MT. Current Underground Mine Certification from MSHA and at least three (3) years of underground experience is required. Period of Performance is from September 16, 2013 through December 31, 2014 Estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. A 100% payment protection will be required for contracts greater than $30,000.00. Payment protection can be submitted by an Irrevocable Letter of Credit, Certificate of Deposit, or Payment Bond, and is due within 10 days after award. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 238190. The small business standard is $14 million. This procurement is being advertised as total Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business set aside. Site tour information will be included in the solicitation. The Solicitation is tentatively scheduled to be available on or about July 22, 2013 at "https://www.fedconnect.net/FedConnect. No hard copies of the solicitation will be issued. Response dates for quotes is tentatively scheduled for August 20, 2013. All reasonable sources may submit a quote. Please check the solicitation for all required documentation to be submitted. Prospective contractors MUST be registered in SAM, System for Award Management and Online Representations and Certifications (ORCA) prior to award. Lack of registration in the SAM and ORCA databases will make an offeror ineligible for award.
