- Description of Desired Capabilities - SMC/ISR OPIR R&D Antenna Solution Synopsis S o urc e s S o u g ht f o r S p ace and Missi l e Syst e ms C e nt e r's Ov e rh e ad P e rsiste n t I n f r a r ed ( O PIR) R e sea r ch a n d D e vel o p m e n t ( R& D ) Effo r t The Department of the Air Force, Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) intends to issue a contract to advance ground segment efforts supporting the Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Research and Development (R&D) for SMC/IS. SMC is issuing this pre-solicitation request for information to identify current industry capability to meet these upcoming requirements. SMC will also use information from the responses to better define its requirements. Description of Desired Capabilities SMC/ISR seeks an solution for ground antenna uplink/downlink for the OPIR 6 Degree Wide-Field-Of-View Test Bed ( 6° WTB) in order to meet pre-launch readiness. Please review attached document for a detailed description of the desired capabilities.
