- SOLICITATION Issued July 8, 2013 PROJECT TITLE Various Roofing Projects on the Mt. Baker Ranger District and Darrington Ranger District, Washington State PROJECT DESCRIPTION The intent of this firm-fixed-price construction contract is to reroof various Forest Service buildings (offices, warehouses, residences, and storage buildings) throughout the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Work will include typical roofing activities, such as tear off, flashing, venting, decking, and new roof installations. The total roof area for all buildings is ~36,000 square feet (Offeror required to measure each building to verify the roofing area). Each project will require compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA) and the applicable U.S. Department of Labor Wage Determinations (Whatcom County & Snohomish County) are provided with this solicitation. BID BOND / PERFORMANCE & PAYMENT BONDS REQUIRED • A bid guarantee of 20% of proposal price will be required for all proposals >$150,000. • Performance and Payment Bonds will be required for all proposals >$150,000. DISCLOSURE OF THE MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS Between $100,000 and $250,000 DESIRED START DATE August 30, 2013 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE Will vary by project location; this information is included in the solicitation. PROJECT LOCATIONS Refer to vicinity map and project photos (attached). BRAND NAME OR EQUAL (FAR 11.104 and FAR Clause 52.211-6) The Forest Service is specifying a brand name or equal roofing product to preserve the historic appearance of these buildings. The salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics of the brand name item will be detailed in the solicitation as required by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) FAR 52.211-6. Below is the brand name and basic salient features required. This may change upon solicitation issuance, so each offeror is required to meet the solicitation requirements: Brava Shake (Brand Name) or Equal (http://www.bravatile.com/roof-tile/shake-roof.htm); Color: Aged Cedar Shake; Width: 5", 7" and 12"; Exposure: 10"; Fifty (50) year minimum guarantee.
