SCOPE OF WORK In 2005, Tuzigoot acquired Tavasci Marsh, the largest freshwater marsh in Arizona. The 2005 land acquisition increased the parks total acreage by nearly 600% and includes public trails, an internationally recognized birding area, management roads and cultural resources. In addition, new lands also share a common boundary with private land owners, state parks and the U.S. Forest Service. This project proposes aerial mapping as a way of updating the parks existing locational data for important interpreted visitor features including roads, trails, buildings and archaeological sites. The collection of this information will improve maps that are currently outdated. For instance, the map of Tuzigoot pueblo was created in 1939. Similarly, a map of trails within Tavasci marsh does not currently exist. A new, updated map is needed to outline visitor areas. This updated information would be included in the parks exhibits, wayside signs and unigrid brochures. The project proposes two phases designed to collect information necessary to improve the visitor experience at Tuzigoot National Monument. Phase 1: Contract Aerial Photogrammetric Mapping of Tuzigoot National Monument Phase 1 (FY2013) will consist of aerial photogrammetric mapping of the entire area within the Tuzigoot unit boundary, collecting data necessary for the creation of a high-accuracy topographic and planimetric map. This map will be used to update existing and outdated maps of the site and share with visitors through the museum, wayside signs and the LCAS website. Deliverables: Digital spatial data: -High-resolution aerial orthophoto covering the extent of Tuzigoot National Monument -High-resolution raster digital elevation model (DEM) covering the extent of Tuzigoot National Monument -Attributed ESRI format vector geometry for: -Topography -Visitor recreational areas (Trails, picnic area, wayside exhibit locations, etc.) -Park Infrastructure (Roads, structures, fences, utilities, etc.) -Important resource areas (Tavasci Marsh, Tuzigoot Pueblo, etc) -All survey control points used in the survey, attributed with Eastings, Northings, and Elevations in specified project coordinate system and geodetic datum. -FGDC CSDGM-compliant metadata for all spatial digital deliverables. Cartographic products: -Ten (10) hardcopy plotted vector maps of Tuzigoot National Monument (approximately ARCH E in size). -Five (5) hardcopy plotted high-resolution aerial orthophotos overlaid with cartographic data as specified by NPS staff (approximately ARCH E in size). -Digital PDF planimetric map of Tuzigoot National Monument. Time Horizon: Completion time is estimated at 9 weeks from initiation of survey control work to draft delivery of products. --- END OF SOLICITATION ---
