Description
Attachemnt A - List of Items to be purchased from VEMCO Division, AMIRIX Systems Incorporated, 211 Horseshoe Lake Drive, Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada B3S 0B9 By way of this Notice, and in accordance with FAR 6.203-1, The Chicago District U. S. Army Corps of Engineers announces its intentions to award a Sole Source, Firm Fixed-Price Purchase Order to VEMCO Division, AMIRIX Systems Incorporated, 211 Horseshoe Lake Drive, Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada B3S 0B9 for the supply of the products listed in Attachement A. The system works with receivers already deployed in the canal by the Corps of Engineers and agency partners like the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Currently, USACE has invested over $250,000 in the existing VEMCO network. Adding the contributions of USFWS and MWRD, we have a network that is worth over $400K. The proposed source, VEMCO, manufactures the ultrasonic transmitters that are compatible to the VEMCO VR2 receivers already deployed in the river by the US Army Corps of Engineers and agency partners like the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. VEMCO owns the patent and this technology is proprietary and unique. This is a sensitive project - we are monitoring the invasion front of a highly invasive species that we have spent years and millions of dollars to manage, monitor, and prevent its spread to the Great Lakes. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 335999, with a small business size standard of 500 Employees. This notice is NOT a Request for Proposals, therefore, NO solicitation documents will be issued. However, interested firms may send a capabilities statement NO LATER THAN the close of business on July 25, 2013. Statements should be sent to the attention of Anita R. Simpkins at anita.r.simpkins@usace.army.mil. Ensure that the subject line of your email includes the title/description of this announcement. The proposed purchase order is anticipated to be awarded on or before 31 July 2013. This announcement is in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(1). The point of contact is Anita Simpkins at (312) 846-5372.
