- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation, Pacific Northwest Region Office, located in Boise, ID, is preparing to issue a sole-source acquisition to perform archeological monitoring of a construction project at Hidden Beach, a burial site on the Spokane Reservation along the shores of Lake Roosevelt in the State of Washington, to the Spokane Tribe of Indians (STI). There is a possibility that human remains, cultural items covered under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), or other archeological resources will be found during construction. This work is being done to assist the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) and the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) in fulfilling their responsibilities under the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and NAGRPA. Reclamation will act as the Lead Agency for Section 106 consultations related to this specific project as a part of their overall partnership with BPA in the Federal Columbia River Power System (FCRPS) Cultural Resources Program. Implementation of defined actions will require notification and consultations with the STI pursuant to NAGPRA. The majority of the work will be done on Federal fee lands managed by the STI under the Lake Roosevelt Cooperative Management Agreement of 1990. A few activities may also extend into adjacent tribal trust lands. This notice serves to meet the posting requirements stated in FAR Part 5.201. The total anticipated value of this acquisition including options is between $25K and $100K.
