- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate and award a limited competition procurement for the Korry Electronics, Inc. Brand Name "Nightshield" Night Vision Device Compatibility Filters for the Aqueous Firefighting Foam (AFFF) indicators. Competition will be between the manufacturer, Korry Electronics, Inc., and their authorized distributors. The AFFF filters are used on the LPD17 class ships, as well as other amphibious assault ships in the US Navy. The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1. The Government does not possess the rights to the proprietary formulation, which was developed by Korry Electronics, Inc., to permit full and open competition. Only Korry Electronics, Inc. and their authorized distributors can meet the form, fit and function requirements for this application. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal in writing that may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
