- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award on a sole-source basis a purchase order to Colt Defense LLC, 547 New Park Avenue, West Hartford, Connecticut 06110-1336 under RFQ# OSCU-0271138779. Colt Defense LLC will provide commercial, "off the shelf" miscellaneous weapon parts compatible with Colt weapons currently used by the FBI. Recent market research efforts, to include consulting with fellow law enforcement agencies, resulted in the determination that the FBI's requirement for the referenced weapon parts can only be provided by Colt Defense LLC. In addition, continued use of Colt weapon parts ensures the integrity of the warranty provided by Colt Defense LLC at the time of weapon purchase. The sole source acquisition meets the conditions of FAR 6.302-1 and is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements may submit a capability statement no later than June 21, 2013, at 12:00PM (EST) to Point of Contact Debora P. Manley, Federal Bureau of Investigation, 14800 Conference Center Drive, Suite 300, Chantilly, VA 20120 or debora.manley@ic.fbi.gov with reference to RFQ-OSCU-0271138779. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement and will be at the sole discretion of the Contracting Officer. The North American Industry Classification System code is 332994 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The awardee shall be registered in the System for Award Management database at www.sam.gov. The anticipated award date is on or before June 25, 2013. The notice will be distributed solely through the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fedbizopps.gov).
