Description
Energy Conservation Def. ID 88803 Location: Flint-Genesee Job Corps Center 2400 N. Saginaw Flint, MI 48505 Project: Mechanical Contractor with HVAC controls experience to verify proper operation of existing equipment, perform minor repairs and to provide on-site training for proper operation to the on-site Facilities Staff. Scope of Work: •1. Must have demonstrated experience with Schneider Electric/Barber Colman building management system (BMS)including both hardware & software used at the Flint Job Corp locationor hire a subcontractor who is qualified. (Flint Genesee Job Corps center can recommend a contractor who has demonstrated experience.) •2. Verify proper operation and performance of HVAC and BMS. Make note of required equipment and system repairs based on efficient operation and federal code. •3. Complete minor repairs of HVAC and BMS (field) equipment as needed and assist with providing occasional deferred maintenance, if any.Provide a listof recommendations for PM's of equipment not currently included in PM schedules. •4. Provide cost estimates for major repairs or modifications of HVAC systems or BMS as required to maximize efficiency of equipment. •5. Complete minor repairs or make list of recommendations for major repairs required to set up and establish economizer cycles on all pertinentHVAC equipment. •6. Provide on-site facility staff training for correct operation, sequencing, maintenance, and PM repair protocols of mechanical equipment and controls. HVAC equipment training to be both instructional and hands-on to ensure knowledge retention. Training for the staff is to begin as the system is being brought back to optimum performance. Videotape for future reference and in-house training of new personnel. •7. Provide training, operation and maintenance manuals for HVAC equipment and BMSon site. •8. Deliver to the center and the Engineering Support Contractor aproject completion report of work performed, includingsystem repair completed, recommended improvements and required repairs/improvements per code. •9. Provide an estimated cost for thesolicited services of SchoolDudes to prepare a complete and thorough list of all equipment including: model numbers, serial numbers, size, mfg. date, specific location, if known. •10. All recommendations and subsequent work shall comply with Uniform Mechanical Code, International Building Code, 2011 National Electrical Code, Life Safety Code or other codes where applicable. As a federal facility local and state codes are not required but will be considered by ESC based on Life Safety. •11. Center has eight buildings with various heating and cooling systems. (Refer to attached spread sheet for brief description of equipment type in buildings. This spread sheet will be completed by School Dudes rep as referenced in line 10) General Conditions: This is a Sub-Contracting Opportunity All Contractors that are interesting in quoting this project must participate in the walk through on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 @ 1:00 pm at FGJCC. Contractors must contact Adele Bosh to confirm their presents at this walk through. Contractor must be licensed, insured and have controls experience to perform work. Proposed work and expense will be presented for each building. No work may be started without a written Purchase Order issued by the Purchasing Department. No Change Orders will be approved without prior approval from the Purchasing Department. Federal Acquisition Regulations applicable to project will be in place. All work to be coordinated through the Facilities Department. Contractors working at the Flint Genesee Job Corps Center must sign in and out each day at front desk. Contractors working at Flint Genesee Job Corps Center must record daily services completed and man hours utilized while on the job. Vehicles entering and exiting the Job Corps Center are subject to search. Work may be scheduled between the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday-Friday or according the time detailed in the Scope of Work. It is the responsibility of the contractor to insure tools and material are secured during work and at the end of each day. The Flint-Genesee Job corps Center will assume no responsibility for stored materials. Contractor is responsible to insure safe working conditions for project for students, staff and contractors employees. All warranty documentation will be submitted to the Facility Manager at the center. All work must be code compliant. The Flint Genesee Job Corps Center may cancel project based on funding withdrawal.
