This is a synopsis prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. This is a Notice of Intent. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The announcement number for this acquisition is AM2962135-1(a) and is being issued under the authority of FAR Subpart 6.302-1, 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The anticipated award date is June 10, 2013. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a small business set-aside. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 325413 which has a size standard number of employees of 500. The National Institutes of Health, National Institutes of Drug Abuse on behalf of the National Institutes on Aging intends to procure on a sole source basis from Beckman Coulter. Beckman Coulter will supply reagents for studying late onset Alzheimer Disease genome research. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. Electronic submission will not be accepted. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Please reference the announcement number on all correspondence. Interested parties submitting a response to this inquiry must include the following information: name and address of company; business size (large or small); identify applicable socioeconomic categories and any pertinent information which demonstrates firms ability to meet the above requirement.
