Description
VA Central Texas Health Care System (VACTHCS) contracting office anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed Price construction/renovation contract for specific areas in the Second Floor of the SICU at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital, San Antonio, TX. The project number is 671-232 and is located at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital, 7400 Merton Minter, San Antonio, TX 78229. Work shall consist of, but not limited to; 1. Existing Isolation Room Exhaust System: In order to comply with new mandates concerning the individual operation of isolation exhaust systems and to accommodate a future project for solar energy production, the existing isolation room exhaust system must be constructed to provide separate exhaust fans and ducting for each of the two isolation patient rooms in the 2D SICU area. As well, the rooftop fan equipment installed as part of the original exhaust system must be moved in order to provide clear space for the installation of new solar collection panels as part of a separate project. 2. Existing DX Split-System HVAC Systems at the IT and BioMed Closets: The systems must be replaced with new fan-coil type HVAC units and maintain conditioning of the spaces independent of the HVAC units serving the remainder of the area per VA Design Standards. As well, the rooftop condensing units must be removed and new equipment installed in the interstitial space in order to provide clear space for the installation of new solar collection panels as part of a separate project. 3. Additional Vision Panels in Identified Doors: Vision panels have been requested in various doors to promote visibility into the spaces for both safety and security reasons. 4. Grad Bars: Install swing away grab bars at each swivette in each patient room. Patching and repairing the wall and flooring that the bar is attached to as necessary. Alternate #1: balancing of the existing 2C Clinic HVAC Duct System: A test and balance needs be done in the 2C Clinic and the SICU. Alternate #2: Additional Power and Data Outlets: Additional power and data outlets have been requested in specific locations. Additionally, it is recommended the offeror visit site prior to submission of their bid in order to be fully acquainted with existing site conditions and scope of work. It is Contractor's responsibility to field verify prior to bid all existing conditions, devices, equipment's, cable distance, cable route, measurements and areas provided in scope of work. The contractor is responsible for, but not limited to, locate underground utilities, furnish all labor, tools, and materials, equipment and supervision to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and drawings. The period of performance is 120 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP). The method of procurement shall be an Invitation For Bid (IFB) in accordance with FAR Part 14 and 36. Issue date will be on or about April 30, 2013. Proposal closing date will be on or about May 30, 2013. This procurement is a 100% Set Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), under Public Law 109-461 (38 USC 8127). The NAICS code is 236220, with business size standard at $33.5 Mil. Probable Cost Range : $250,000 - $500,000.
