- Description
- General Description of the Services: Subcontractor shall provide all labor, material and equipment to recycle radioactively contaminated and DOE "suspension" lead from the Savannah River Site (SRS). Work / Task Requirements: The Subcontractor shall recycle radioactively contaminated and DOE "suspension:" lead provided by Savannah River Remediation LLC (SRR). All activities ahall be performed at the subcontractor's facility. The Subcontractor shall be licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The Subcontractor's facility shall manage all lead received from SRR as potential/radioactive material. The lead shall be segregated, processed and recycled into radiological-controlled products, and any resultant generated waste dispositioned per state and federal regulations. Task Requirements The Subcontractor shall demonstrate, using work histories, licensing and certifications, etc., their capability to safely recycle radioactively contaminated lead. The Subcontract must meet the following three conditions: 1) Certify material is recycled into markets that are compliant with the DOE moratorium/suspension for recycled metals. 2) Meet export control requirements, if applicable. 3) Certify that any resultant wastes are dispositioned in accordance with state and federal regulations.
