- Statement of Work Notice of Intent to Sole Source Title: Caterpillar Generator Maintenance and Extended Service Coverage Identification Number: ID04130090 Issuance Date: 12 April 2013 NAICS Code: 811310- Commercial and Industrial Machinery Repair and Maintenance Services Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price The General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Assisted Acquisition Services Division (AASD) has received a requirement from the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Vicksburg Mississippi. This is a notice of intent that GSA anticipates issuing a solicitation in support of ERDC. The Statement of Work (SOW), performance requires an Authorized Caterpillar Dealer to perform preventative maintenance on the Caterpillar Generators, at a minimum, in accordance with the Caterpillar Power Protection Plan (PPP) of recommended services and inspections. Extended Service Coverage is to include support on all original factory equipment with Caterpillar part numbers, excluding consumables such as filters, hoses and belts unless otherwise listed. The proposed contract action is for Caterpillar Generator Maintenance and Extender Service Coverage for which the Government intends to solicit sole source to Puckett Machinery Company, CAGE 1JX26, 3263 Highway 80 West, Jackson MS, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a )(2) because Puckett Machinery is the only known company that provide this support based on the Caterpillar dealer location. The equipment is located in Vicksburg Mississippi and Caterpillar authorizes contractors to perform maintenance on their equipment based on location of the equipment. Questions regarding this notice must be submitted in writing via email to the below identified issuing office point of contact no later than the Wednesday April 19, 2013, 11:00 am CDT. Oral communication is not accepted on this notice of intent. No other communications, whether oral or in writing, will modify or supersede the terms of this synopsis document. The proposed contract action is for supplies and/or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a )(2). This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any party that believes it is capable of meeting the requirements stated in the attached technical requirements document may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports their ability to deliver the required services. Capability statements shall be received no later than the response date and time of this notice. Submissions will be reviewed to determine if they can meet the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. ISSUING OFFICE Gloria D.
