- The Mission & Installation Contracting Command - Fort Drum, NY, 13602 is issuing a Sources Sought notice to assist in our market research and possible set aside determination. Only small businesses should respond. The Contractor shall provide all necessary resources, management, personnel, materials, transportation, supplies, and equipment, to provide packing/unpacking, storage and pickup/delivery of household goods (HHG) for Fort Polk, LA, 71459. Supply falls under NAICS Code 488991-Packing and Crating manufacturing with a size standard of $25.5 million dollars. Specifications for the packing and crating are below: Packing and Crating Services: The Place of Performance is Fort Polk, LA 71459; Outbound Service: Conduct premove survey, servicing of appliances, disassembly of furniture; Conduct packaging, inventorying, tagging, wrapping, padding, packing and bracing of HHG in Government-owned and furnished shipping containers at member's/employee's residence or at contractor's facility when ordered by contracting officer; Properly securing and sealing of shipment and weighing, obliterating old markings, marking, strapping, and drayage of the container within an area of performance; Loading of shipments on linehaul carrier's equipment at the contractor's facility; Picking up HHG at non-temporary storage facility and transporting to contractor's facility. Inbound Service: Drayage from contractor's facility to storage warehouses, air and surface transportation terminals, military installation shipping offices and ocean or river terminals/piers and return; Unloading from the delivering carrier's vehicle, handling into contractor's facility, drayage to member's/employee's residence; Decontainerization and unpacking of loaded containers of HHG and placing goods in rooms as directed by member/employee; Unservicing appliances, assembly of any disassembled articles and removing shipping containers, barrels, boxes/crates, and debris from member's/employee's residence and drayage of empty containers to contractor's or Government facility. Standard commercial procedures apply for conducting household goods move to include all aspects of pickup, storage, and delivery. The purpose of this market survey is to solicit interest and capabilities from vendors to develop an appropriate procurement strategy. Information gathered may provide direction to the type of set aside. The contract type is anticipated to be a FFP contract. Individuals or businesses interested in this requirement are requested to submit a statement of interest, with a subject of Fort Polk Packing and Crating, to alicia.m.burrows2.mil@mail.mil. This statement shall include company information, DUNS number, CAGE code, size status under NAICS code 488991, relevant past performance on same/similar work dating back to the last three years and the company's capability to do this type of work, as well as a point of contact. Only responses submitted by e-mail will be considered. Current registration in SAM (https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/) is imperative prior to submitting your response. This is not a request for competitive quotes and will not result in a contract award. Since this a sources sought announcement, no evaluation letters and/or results will be issued to the respondents. No solicitation exists and vendors should not request a copy of a solicitation. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced at a later date. Fort Drum is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. Fort Drum will not accept telephone or fax inquiries regarding this notice. All information received will be considered market research. Fort Drum must receive all responses to this Sources sought notice by 4:00 pm Eastern Standard Time, 25 April 2013.
