- MEDCOM, Western Regional Contracting Office (WRCO), Tacoma, WA intends to award a firm fixed priced order under FAR Part 6.302-1 to Symmetry Surgical Inc, in the amount of $62,719.35 for a one-time purchase. Because of the increase in patient care and the fact that the equipment is considered mission critical, the need to keep the operating room equipped with adequate instruments for trauma surgeries that must be compatible with the existing instrument equipment is required. Symmetry Surgical Inc is the sole manufacturer and distributor of this equipment. The Bookwalter Self-Retaining Retractor Instrument Sets are considered mission critical and are imperative to maintaining patient care. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1.This notice is not a request for proposal and a solicitation will not be issued in conjunction with the notice of intent. Any vendor that believes their products can meet the requirement can provide supporting documents demonstrating their products capability and specifications. Responses received will be used for future acquisitions. Information can be sent to the Purchasing Agent; Ms. Angela Dexter at angela.dexter@us.army.mil. No telephone or facsimile requests will be accepted. This procurement will be prepared in accordance with FAR Part 13, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
