- Notice of Intent for Sole Source The Southern Regional Contracting Office, Brooke Army Medical Center intends to award a sole source contract with the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHSC) for custom arm sling brackets. USAISR designed the arm sling system in coordination with UTHSC and holds the patent. UTHSC fabricated the original custom made arm sling system to include the previous arm sling brackets and components currently used to position patients in the Burn ICU (BICU). The BICU upgraded the bed they use which necessitates the need to upgrade the arm sling brackets to attach to the beds in order for the existing arm sling component to be most effective. UTHSC designed and fabricated a custom proto-type of the requested brackets which has been tested and proven effective to complete the arm sling system. Award will be made on or about 14 February 2013. The NAICS code 339113. This notice is neither a request for quotes nor a solicitation of offers; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency for future requirements.
