Description
The work resulting from a potential task order type contract will involve provision of engineering, technical, system development, and specialized services associated with the maintenance of shipboard material readiness; with a primary emphasis on shipboard testing, inspection and survey programs required to maintain material readiness. Efforts will be in support of the US Navy Military Sealift Command's (MSC) Engineering Directorate, Ship Inspection Branch, the organization responsible for managing the various ship inspection programs utilized to assess material readiness of the MSC fleet, and in support of other government agencies, as required. Performance will take place primarily aboard MSC vessels and other vessels specifically identified by MSC during the term of the potential contract. In support of the MSC, the awardee would provide services for accomplishing the following: • Material condition surveys and inspections • Marine and mechanical engineering • Electrical and electronic engineering • Technical engineering analysis • Root cause analysis of machinery casualties • Test plan development and refinement • Administrative support for tests, surveys and inspection reports • Technical and administrative support for future ship inspection program development • Naval architecture This procurement is a FAR Part 12 acquisition utilizing FAR Part 15 procedures. The Government contemplates awarding a Firm-Fixed-Price type, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity, Knowledge Based Services contract. The period of performance will be a one year firm period with two one year option periods. The applicable NAICS code is 541330. Services are being procured by: Military Sealift Command, HQ Contracting, N1023 914 Charles Morris CT SE Building 157 Washington Navy Yard, DC 20398-5540 Anticipated Award Date is on or about August 31, 2013.
