Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 21 will be issuing an Invitation for Bid for construction services to Repair Building 2 Exterior at the VA Medical Center San Francisco located at 4150 Clement Street, San Francisco, CA 94121. This solicitation is for a Service Disable Veteran Owned Small Business. This is a Pre-Solicitation announcement only. Solicitation documents will be available in the near future. Offeror will be required to submit a pricing proposal. Solicitation will contain proposal instructions. Background: Building 2 was constructed in 1933. A sixth floor was added in the 40's and 50's. The central stairway tower was extended in the 1980's. The latest exterior work done was a waterproofing project in 1996. A study was performed under AE contractor in 2009 to identify major areas of exterior that would require repairs. General Construction: Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, and materials needed to repair and paint the exterior of Building 2 at the San Francisco VA Medical Center of 4150 Clement Street, San Francisco, California 94121. Building 2 was constructed in 1933. Work shall include repair of all concrete spalls, cracks; terra cotta cracks; terra cotta mortar joints; refurbish loose and missing Terra Cotta parts; repair of plaster cracks, stucco cracks, and failed sealants. Repair and repaint rusted exposed exterior steel angles; etc. After all the repairs have been completed, paint the building exterior all levels with primer and minimum 2 top coats; and install new copper parapet caps along the roof line of the entire building. The contractor is responsible for adequate field investigation to identify all repair areas on the exterior or Building 2 prior to submitting his cost proposal. The magnitude for this project will be between: $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00
