- For this procurement, The VA intends to award a single Firm Fixed Price contract for whole genome sequencing services. At this time the VA anticipates the need for the sequencing of 300 DNA samples. The contractor would be required to store, track and manages samples to ensure security, test DNA for good quality and to identity match sample before and after sequencing, provide sequencing (>30x depth of >90% of reference genome) DNA alignments and quality scores of variants relative to a human genome reference sequence provided by the contractor in fastq or similar output file format, OR complete raw sequence files in fastq format, depending upon the VA specific requests at the time of contract award. Sequencing shall also include BAM files of each sequenced genome. Sequenced data shall be sent back to the VA in a secure manner by shipment of encrypted physical hard drives to VA by courier or overnight shipping, and including signature confirmation. Unused samples will then be destroyed per SOW specifications and direction of the VA. Various reports shall be required and all Data collection shall be property of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The intention of this notice is to seek sources that could potentially provide these services. Firms with interest and capability to respond to this requirement should develop short (1-3 pages) narrative capability statements and past performance history of similar requirements including relevant experience and other information indicating and evidencing capability to successfully meet the aforementioned requirements. Responding to this notice does not guarantee any opportunity for the contract, and is only used for the VA's planning purposes. For questions regarding these services required for this requirement and to submit capability statements please contact keith.costantino@va.gov or 412-822-3438.
