- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation issuance and quotes are hereby requested. The 1/507th is requesting the lease of one (1) 10K Fork Lift in support of Fort Benning, Airborne School drop zone operations. Currently the 1/507th has no adequate contingency recovery equipment to rescue jumpers who land in the trees on the drop zone, which can reach 54 feet. Some tree landings are unavoidable due to current procedural methods. A forklift with the capability to drive on road and off road is needed to perform retrieval of soldiers from trees and improve safety procedures. This requirement is set-aside for Woman-Owned Small Businesses (WOSB). The NAICS code is 532490, $7.0 million size standard. The solicitation will be available today with quotes due on 21 January 2013 no later than 10 a.m. All Contractors doing business with the Department of Defense shall be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) per FAR Clause 52.204-99, System for Award Management Registration that replaces FAR 52.204-7, Central Contractor Registration. The website can be accessed on the Internet at http://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/. No paper copies of the solicitation will be mailed and telephone requests for paper copies will not be honored. The period of performance for this contract is 1 February 2013 through 31 January 2014, with three (3) one year options periods.
