Description
Amendment to Synopsis: Q&A The following questions were submitted by a vendor and subsequently answered by the Program Manager for this acquisition. 1. Are you using the term Vertical Carousel and VLM as an either/or as both will store the products suggested? Answer: Vertical Carousel will be used for smaller parts and the Vertical Carouse Vertical Lift Module is for binger parts. 2. Will product types comingle on a tray/pan/shelf? Example a 48" long piece and a 18" tall x 22" wide x 22" box? Answer: No, we plan on filling them with different sizes boxes. 3. There is concern with a forklift placing materials in the machine due to damage? Answer: I was looking at a VLM designed for heavy parts and we have a side loader forklift that should work fine.. 4. Is there a thought to have an external P&D (pickup and delivery front) to reduce damage? Answer: Yes If there is room in the space where they are going. 5. Will there be more definition on the products as there can be multiple solutions to help make the storage decision? Answer: If its required I can make a list of big and small items. 6. Can we use an external station for the 18" tall x 22" wide x 22" parts in a tote and convey them into the machine? You can still utilize an assist device such as a forklift for pickup and delivery. Answer: Not sure what it looks like of if it will work or not. These questions and answers were posted to clarify similar questions that any other vendor may have regarding this acquisition. The Solicitation for this requirement will more than likely be post on January 14 to allow adequate time for vendors to view the above Q&A segment and submit any other questions that they may subsequently have as well.
