- Federal Prison Industries, Inc. (FPI) In support of the Federal Bureau of Prisons' reentry efforts, Federal Prison Industries, Inc. (FPI) has been granted approval by its Board of Directors to produce solar panels, which would otherwise be manufactured or assembled outside of the United States, for sale in the commercial market. This FPI Board of Directors' approved pilot is authorized by recent legislation that provides additional training and work opportunities for Federal inmates. Interested parties have a right to raise questions at any time with FPI's Board of Directors.
