Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7, intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with First Signal Sound and Security Solutions, 1750 Enterprise Way Suite 107, Marietta, GA 30067, on or around December 7, 2012 to perform a FocusCare upgrade to the facility's WestCall Nurse Equipment Nurse Call Center and integrate that system with the facility's Vocera Wireless Communication System. The current system used by the facility, the West-Com Nurse Call System, is manufactured by WestCall. Any upgrades to the System must be performed by a factory-trained company who is certified to sell, install, and maintain the WestCall nurse call product line. The WestCall product line is sold, installed, and maintained by small business distributors. First Signal is the West-Call distributor for parts of South Carolina and Georgia, in which the facility resides. Thus, First Signal is the only distributor authorized to perform this upgrade. NAICS Code: 423610 Electrical Apparatus and Equipment, Wiring Supplies, and Related Equipment Merchant Wholesalers (Size Standard 100 employees) This proposed procurement is for equipment for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than December 5, 6 p.m. EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
