Description
This is not a Request for Quote. This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information. The purpose of this announcement is for market research purposes to determine what capable businesses are available and interested in providing support to our National Marine Fisheries Center locations in Galveston, TX, Lafayette, LA, and Miami, FL. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 541990 (size standard in gross annual receipts of income as defined in 13 CFR 121.104) for this potential procurement has a size standard of $35.5 Million for small businesses. The work would entail the following: - Galveston, TX - Grounds Maintenance, Janitorial Services, and Facilities Maintenance and Management Services. - Lafayette, LA - Facilities Maintenance and Management Services. - Miami, FL - Facilities Maintenance and Management Services General Work categories typically associated are as follows: - The assistant facilities maintenance worker provides assistance for maintenance services for a variety of tasks in the maintenance and care of building, grounds, and related structures, fixtures, and utilities. Examples of such tasks include assisting with general repairs and maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and minor electrical work; operating and assisting with performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery; assisting with operating and maintaining utility systems and equipment controlled by air, natural gas, steam, electricity, and water; operate and calibrate computer controls of the seawater system, assist with preventative maintenance of shop tools and equipment by assisting with adjusting, cleaning, troubleshooting, monitoring, and repairing of equipment, read and work from blueprints, schematics, sketches, maps, specifications and work instructions. - The grounds maintenance worker provides maintenance services for a variety of tasks in the maintenance and care of grounds and buildings. Examples of such tasks include operating maintenance equipment and machinery including hand drills, circular saws, power mowers, tractors, edgers, trimmers, and perform maintenance on the equipment; assist in selection of plants, fertilizers, eradication chemicals and equipment repair parts; mow grass; perform edging of driveways and sidewalks; remove debris from all areas. - The janitor provides janitorial and custodial services for a variety of tasks. Examples of such tasks include general janitorial task such as cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting, and servicing restroom facilities and fixtures; sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors and stairways using powered equipment; shampoo carpets and rugs; sweep steps and concrete floors; perform routine preventative maintenance. Responses to this request for information shall not constitute responses to any request for quote, which is not currently available. No request for quote currently exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the request for quote. The decision to solicit for a contract shall be solely at the Government's discretion. This request for information is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in response to this notice. Respondents will not be individually notified of the result. The Government's evaluation of the capability statement received may factor into whether any forthcoming request for quote will be conducted as a small business set-aside, full and open completion, or sole-source procurement. Firms that believe they are capable and interested in providing these services may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. The capability statement shall be no more than ten (10) pages in length and shall address the following topics: - Organization's name, Address, Phone Number, Email, and Point of Contact Information - Brief summary describing your organization and how it fits into this requirement. - Description of any work done previously with name of business and organization, date of award and completion, and dollar value. - Include business size classification (e.g. large business, small business, 8(a), HUBZone, Small Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Woman Owned Small Business, Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business Concerns, Veteran Owned Small Business, etc.). - Advise if you are interested in all the locations or just one location. Indicate which locations you would be interested in Submissions will not be accepted after December 7, 2012. Electronic responses are required and shall be submitted to Joan Clarkston at joan.e.clarkston@noaa.gov. The Announcement number should be listed in the subject header of the email. All documentation shall become the property of the Government. Unless otherwise stated herein, no additional information is available.
