Description
The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge and obtain feedback of potential businesses capable of providing the necessary technical services to the Fires Center of Excellence's (FCoE) efforts to provide assessment of the situation, definition of the Army Electric Fires Mission, strategic impacts, tools, vulnerabilities, and opportunities across the doctrine, organizations, training, materiel, leadership, personnel and facilities domain. Potential contractors with the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the requirement described in the attached Performance Work Statement (PWS) are invited to provide feedback and/or concern(s) encountered with the PWS for this requirement. Comments/Feedback is due to the below POC's via email on or before 30 Nov 2012. This is not a request for quotes/proposals. Background: The Fires Center of Excellence is identifying promising technologies for the future of Fires. At the direction of the Vice Chief of Staff Army (VCSA), and in coordination with the Space and Missile Defense Command, the FCoE will continue to assess and develop quote mark Electric Fires quote mark (EF) capabilities, which include but is not limited to directed energy (high and/or free energy laser, high power microwaves, etc.), plasma and electromagnetic kinetic energy weapons technologies used to destroy, degrade, deny or disrupt a threat's capability. As the Army explores the potential these new technologies provide to fill current capability gaps, will simultaneously investigate and identify how Electric Fires technologies create new gaps in our war fighting functions with regards to Army doctrine, organizations, training, material, leadership and education, personnel and facilities (DOTMLPF). Points of Contact: Any interested sources are requested to provide comments and feedback to Karen L. Warner via email at Karen.l.warner@us.army.mil or Pat Dominguez at patricia.m.dominguez2.civ@mail.mil. Please see attached draft PWS.
