- This Notice of Intent to Sole Source is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available. Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(g), the Birmingham VA Medical Center intends to place a onetime equipment procurement on an other than full and open competition basis with American Purchasing Services, Inc., (DBA) American Medical Depot, 4380 NW 135th Street, Opa Locka, FL 33054-4418. The purchase consists of a 9 item instrument set used to keep bones in place with pins, rods and clamps. The sets cannot be a mixture of two companies or more. The thread sizes and lengths must match the current instrument sets to protect the patient from undue harm. This is a one-time equipment purchase. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Contract is firm fixed price and the NAICS Code is 423450. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and service, to the Contracting Officer within four (4) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information must be sent to the Connie Ganier, Contracting Specialist, NCO 7, Birmingham VA Medical Center via e-mail at connie.ganier@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the contracting specialist will proceed with the sole source procurement with American Medical Depot.
