- The United States coast guard surface forces Logistics Center, Contracting and Procurement branch 2 IBCT Product Line intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote for Dockside Repairs (SSDG ENGINE OVERHAULS) for the United States Coast Guard Cutter: ELDERBERRY (WLI-65401). The ELDERBERRY is a 65 foot Inland River Tender. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The NAICS Code is 336611 and the small business size standard is less than 1000 employees. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value for (RFQ) on or about October 19, 2012 The RFQ will be issued via the Federal business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPPS) website at http://www.fbo.gov/. This requirement will be evaluated using price and past performance as an evaluation factors. Hard copies solicitation will not be issued. It is incumbent upon the contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPPS website for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPPS also contains an optional automatic notification service. THE ACQUISITION WILL BE SOLICITED AS TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: The period of performance will be Twenty-One (21) days after the Cutter becomes available. January 10, 2013 through January 31, 2013 PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: The place of performance will be at the Cutter's Home Port: USCGC ELDERBERRY,107 Dockside Street, Petersburg Alaska 99833 DESCRIPTION OF WORK (General Scope) Contractor will provide all parts, equipment, and special tools to perform all the work. Technical representative(s) will perform a Center Section Overhauls on two (2) Detroit Diesel Model 371 two cycle diesel engines. In accordance with attached Specification For #1 and #2 Ships Service Diesel Generators Center Section Overhauls FY2012 "Rev-0, 17 October 2012". Work is to be conducted in frame. Technical representatives will verify with ships force prior to and following completion of overhaul the proper operation of the Generator. CERTIFICATIONS: The contractor shall provide the services of qualified Technical Representatives for the Detroit Diesel Model 3-71 equipment System. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory coed performance qualification procedures. The Specification for this project is posted with this pre-solicitation synopsis for review and comments from interested parties.
