Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center located at 1310 24th Avenue South, Nashville, TN has a requirement for the following services: Provide all necessary Arvhitectureal Engineering (A/E) services required to prepare Schematic Design (SD) Development, Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD) and Bid Documents, for Project 626-13-201 A/E "REPLACE MEDICAL AIR SYSTEMS" at the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, Nashville, TN. Design period services shall include drawings, specifications, and cost estimate reflecting specific tasks identified therein, in addition to on-site meetings with professional administrative staff, site investigative work and review of existing documents. AE staff and consultants shall be adequately knowledgeable of the various subordinate design disciplines, including but not limited to MEP, structural, fire protection, life safety, and other building/utility systems required. Performance Period for design is 60 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, plus the construction period services during the construction phase. Complete an investigation of the current medical and dental air and vacuum systems. Using the results of the investigation recommend and design an upgrade to replace the medical compressed air system, medical vacuum system, dental compressed air system and dental vacuum system and any other associated equipment. The systems are located in and serve building 1. Control devices and alarms will be replaced; the monitoring of the system (such as filter status and dew point levels) will be able to be performed in the boiler control room and alarm in the police dispatch office (A140). At the conclusion of the project, the new systems will be certified prior to operation. The design team must incorporate a certified medical gas services professional in the design. There is a two hour response time in which the Contractor must be on-site during the Construction Period Services. The NAICS code is 541310 and the small business size standard is $4.5 million. This procurement is 100% set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns. AE selection criteria will include: 1) Team proposed for the project; 2) Proposed management plan; 3) Previous experience of proposed team; 4) Location of AE firm; 5) Proposed design approach; 6) Project control; 7) Estimating effectiveness; 8) Sustainable design; 9) Miscellaneous experience and capabilities. This is not a request for proposal. One original copy of SF330 and three copes of the SF330 on compact disc (CD) shall be mailed to Mrs. Stacey Chumney, Contracting Officer (90C), 1639 Medical Center Parkway Room 418, Murfreesboro, TN 37129, no later than November 19, 2012. No faxed or email SF 330's will be accepted. Contractors must be verified in VETBIZ and viewable at the time of submission of offer and must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
